Library of 2019-2020 ONLINE Self-study Trainings 
Online self-study courses  are 5 CEs each, (6 credits in NYS) and cover clinical topics like CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Co-occurring Disorders and Ethics.
Ethics for the Counseling Professions
is a 5 CE (6 CE in NYS) course for LCSWs, LMSWs, LMHCs and CASACs that covers ethical values which are the grounding for ethical counselor practice. Course covers social work, mental health counselor and CASAC ethical codes, covers ethical decision making in the areas of confidentiality, technological advances, immigration and addictions. Bioethics research fellow Dr. Tim Campbell walks us through cases which require ethical decision-making in all areas. Find out more, and register here.

Essential Motivational Interviewing , Essential CBT, and Essential Co-occurring Disorders, online trainings worth 5 CEs (6 CEs in NYS) or contact hours each,  are currently offered at low cost to re-credentialing CASACs and NY State LM, LCSWs, and LMHCs. For re-credentialing CASACs
A free online OASAS- approved CBT training worth 6 CEs in NYS is being offered to re-credentialing CASACs in both English and Spanish starting in September, 2018 and extending until the end of 2019. Invitations were sent to all CASACs in the email beginning the last part of August. Best Practice Trainers, Inc is sponsoring the study of treatment issues relating to substance use disorders.
The free CBT training (click here for more complete description of the training) will be made available beginning throughout 2018-2019  to any re-credentialing CASAC who registers.) You can complete the training at your own pace, and you can request help from BPTI staff if you don’t understand something.  You will receive a 6 CE certificate when you complete the posttest with 75% accuracy. National Study completed! BPTI completed a national study on social worker use of CBT with substance use disorders in November, 2017. All those who took the training increased their use of CBT with clients with substance use disorders AND increased the worker’s confidence in using the technique. 93% of those who took the training rated it “good” to “excellent.” A draft of the report on the study, authored by BPTI Board and consultants, is available for your review here.
